Missing Jo

Gosh it's quiet around here ... wonder what's missing, ah yes ... I remember! Treat myself to a lie in until, well, that's a secret. Various work related things to attend to, the system at Canary Wharf has a problem but I can't reach it from here as IT haven't opened up the requested route yet. Catch up on a lot of email etc and generally lounge around as it's raining ... lots. On the evening news it transpires that there has been as much rain in the past 24 hours as there normally is in the whole month of October - so I don't feel quite so guilty about staying in and admiring the view.

On the plus side, Anne calls about 2pm or so and we spend the next hour catching up and generally chatting, as one does. Then the phone dies and I realise that PAYG has its downside when stateside - and am then mildly horrified when I realise that the hundred quid of credit that I charged the phone with before I flew out has just vanished! Attempt to recharge online to discover that vodafone live is "down for maintenance" but thankfully find a text from cingular that arrived when I landed that gives me top up details ... so more money on the phone it's time for me to return the call ... and we natter a bit more!

Egypt now booked for end Jan / early Feb and Anne's also coming out to NY at the end of the month ... so that's something nice to look forward to :-)

Decide that the land-fill site needs some more junk so investigate pizza delivery places. Sadly the nicest doesn't deliver this far north (they don't seem to have pizza delivery mopeds in the USA) but the one I find round the corner is perfectly acceptable ... if HUGE. Portion control not a strong point I think.
